Places to Eat in Tauranga: Our Top Recommendations for Where to Dine

There are many excellent options for eating out in and around Tauranga. We have chosen six of our favourite places to recommend, whether you are looking for something casual or for a special occasion.

Somerset Cottage

Somerset Cottage is located in the Bethlehem town centre just a few minutes from the French Country House. Open for lunches from Wednesday to Friday and dinner 6 days a week, Somerset Cottage is particularly known for its outstanding food. Passionate about what they do, they offer a mix of modern cuisine using quality ingredients.

Mills Reef Winery and Restaurant

Perfect for a special celebration, Mills Reef is an award winning restaurant and winery set in 20 acres of parkland yet just 5 minutes from central Tauranga. It is famous for its relaxed alfresco dining, attentive staff and the range of excellent wines that complement the menu.

Phil's Place Waterfront Restaurant

Phil's Place is a popular restaurant for lunch and dinner, located on the Tauranga harbour. Enjoy the spectacular views over the marina while you dine. They use local, fresh produce and provide a wide menu choice to suit a range of palates

Harbourside Waterfront Dining

For modern fine dining in a stunning location it is hard to go past the Harbourside restaurant. Situated on the edge of Tauranga's waterfront, the Harbourside menu represents the finest ingredients, professionally prepared. Sit on the balcony overhanging the water and enjoy the special views.

Café Versailles

Café Versailles is a gem in the heart of Tauranga. Choose from a menu of authentic French cuisine, from homemade patisserie to slow cooked beef burgundy. Be transported to France and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. The restaurant is open 6 days from 3.30pm till late.

The Phoenix

The Phoenix is a beer bar and restaurant with a great ambience in the centre of Tauranga. This is casual pub style dining at its best. Sit outside on a warm Bay of Plenty evening and enjoy the people watching on the waterfront street.
